We decided that Dr. M's Wonderful Wiki was the link that followed TPACK the best. This teacher created a WikiSpace and had her students research different topics to create a VoiceThread video on it. The students worked in pairs to research their topic, create the narration and video, and post it to the Wiki. These strategies fit the pedadgogy on high school students because they are involved in hands on learning that is project based and uses technology. The content standard is also met because the students are studying the content to create the VoiceThreads. The teacher also seems very knowledgeable in her area of student. Technology was obviously used by the students creating the VoiceThreads, posting them to the WikiSpace, and the research they completed.

The area of content that my virtural instruction will be based on is adding and subtracting within 20 (1.OA.A.1). TPACK will influence my instruction in several ways. First, it will help me see that I am using and teaching my content correctly. I need to make sure that I understand the content I am teaching, before I show it to my students. This sounds easy since I am a first grade teacher, but it is actually very challenging. I have to become familiar with the way the students needs to be taught how to solve problems with the new standards. Everything is very different than it use to be several years ago. I will review my content and make sure I know what the students need to be able to do.

Secondly, TPACK will influence the teaching methods I use to teach the content because it will guide me to use strategies that are developmentally appreciate for the first grade learners in my room. I know that I will need lessons to be hands on to help keep the students in my class engaged. Several of the methods I have to teach them to use are very complicated and hard for them to learn. I need to be able to break things down visually so that every student can understand what we are learning. I will use a variety of instructional strategies to help meet the needs of all of my learners.

Finally, the TPACK frame work will be used to help incorporate technology into my instruction of this topic. Technology goes well with the pedagogy factors I face in my classroom because it allows students to explore and love by interacting with the content. Creating VoiceThreads, using my WikiSpace, and allowing my students to create videos and other types of multimedia will help them learn in different ways and keep them wanting to be involved in their learning. Technology is the missing link that ties the pedagogy and technology strand together.
